This position performs investigative duties to assist the District Attorney in preparing cases for prosecution. The role involves preparing case files, attending preliminary hearings, obtaining various reports and evidence, running background checks, and preparing discovery information for defense counsel. The Investigator will also interview victims and witnesses, prepare for motion hearings, transport evidence, testify before the Grand Jury, and prepare cases for trial. This includes verifying subpoenas, ensuring chain of custody, reviewing cases with witnesses, obtaining court records, and creating documents for court presentation. The position also oversees the maintenance of an assigned vehicle and assists in department file administration.
