About The Position

The Investigator plays an important part at the Board. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting investigations of complaints and allegations of Ohio Revised Code (ORC) 4757 including practicing without a license, claims of unethical and/or illegal behavior of counselors, social workers and therapists. Handling complaints and allegations submitted to the Board, making preliminary determination as to the validity of the complaints and allegations after interviewing involved parties and reviewing available documentation and evidence. Conducting investigation in conjunction with assigned Board members. Interviewing witnesses, gathers records and documents to assist Board in determining whether ORC 4757 has been violated. Maintaining investigation databases. Preparing investigation reports. Maintaining case files and records and confers with Board members and legal staff for assistance in documenting and preparing cases for hearings, other adjudications or filing of charges for prosecution. Testifying as needed during prosecution and adjudication hearings. Preparing and responding to public records requests. Monitoring compliance requirements of disciplined licensees.

Requirements

  • 30 months of training or 30 months of investigative experience with experience corresponding to type of complaints and alleged violations appearing in job posting/approved position description AND valid driver's license.
  • Completion of associate core program in law enforcement, criminal justice or in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on file AND 12 months of experience conducting investigations and/or inspections AND valid driver’s license.
  • 30 months of training or 30 months of experience as Investigator Assistant, 26210 with experience corresponding to type of complaints and alleged violations appearing in job posting/approved position description AND valid driver's license.
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
