About The Position

The Investigator II/Enterprise Risk Management is responsible for conducting investigations of incidents involving potential legal liability and civil penalties; fires and explosions potentially involving natural gas; damage to Company property; vehicle accidents; and employee injuries at the direction of Enterprise Risk Management leadership and Legal. This position assists with implementing Occupational Health and Safety (“OSHA”) initiatives and programs at the Division level to ensure a safe working environment and OSHA compliance. This position serves on a team of investigators who investigates serious incidents. This position also assists the Administrator/Risk Management in implementing the division safety program to ensure a safe working environment and OSHA compliance and assists with the division environmental program to ensure state and federal EPA compliance and environmental permitting requirements are met. This position serves as the division environmental response coordinator.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of relevant work experience

Responsibilities

  • Conduct investigations of incidents involving potential legal liability, fire & explosions, property damage, vehicle accidents, and employee injuries
  • Coordinate complex investigations with experts, outside entities, and internal departments
  • Draft written investigative reports that document investigative findings in an accurate, concise, and unbiased manner
  • Communicate investigative findings with Management, General Liability Claims, and Legal
  • Conduct employee safety and environmental training
  • Assist Risk Management & Corporate Legal Affairs with the resolution of claims and the defense of litigation
  • Identify and communicate areas of improvement identified during investigations with department management, key personnel, and follow up on management’s resolution plan
  • Investigate workers’ compensation claims and coordinate with management on injury prevention efforts
  • Assist the Sr. Investigator and/or the Administrator/Manager with implementing the division Accident Prevention Committee
  • Conduct Safety in the Field evaluations and discuss findings with stakeholders
  • Communicate safety metrics, trends, and preventive information with stakeholders
  • Coordinate outside agency representatives during OSHA inspections if needed
  • Provide any additional support to the Company’s safety program as requested
  • Assist the Manager of Occupational Health and Safety with developing and implementing safety programs and training
  • Conduct employee safety and driver safety training
  • Provide first aid and CPR training for all Company employees
  • Assist in creating and providing training for the division’s fire investigation external partners
  • Provide data and assist in the preparation of responses to data requests from appropriate regulatory agencies
  • Ensure division compliance with applicable Company policies, local, state, and federal regulations related to safety, environmental, and security issues
  • Interpret changes in liability and safety laws and regulations and advise management accordingly
  • Perform liaison responsibilities with fire and police agencies
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Regular and predictable attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
