About The Position

CACI is seeking a proven, high-performing leader to manage a team of Background Investigators at their Virtual Investigations Operations Center in Tampa, FL. This is a daily, onsite leadership position for someone who leads from the front, thrives in a fast-paced operational environment, and upholds high standards of quality and accountability. The ideal candidate is a credentialed investigative professional with demonstrated supervisory skills, deep subject matter expertise, and a history of driving team performance. A prerequisite for this role is current customer credentialing with a minimum of 18 consecutive months of continuous service on this contract. This is an accountable role, not advisory, with direct responsibility for the day-to-day execution, performance, and routine of the team.

Requirements

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work-related and/or military experience.
• Minimum of 3 years related work experience.
• Current customer credential with a minimum of 18 consecutive months of continuous service on this contract.
• Must be able to work under minimal supervision while being physically present at the designated onsite location.
• Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching, and process execution.
• Must possess a favorable determination based on a T5 investigation from the customer.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a daily physical presence at CACI's Virtual Investigations Operations Center in Tampa, FL.
• Manage and prioritize the team's caseload in real time, ensuring timely and accurate case closure.
• Drive achievement of all established statistical and performance metrics; leverage data to continuously improve team efficiency.
• Oversee all management related elements including timecards and overtime management.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Background Investigators as a recognized Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the federal investigation process.
• Serve as the primary coach and escalation point for investigative quality, technique, and compliance.
• Identify performance gaps early and implement corrective action with consistency and fairness.
• Act as an advocate and intermediary between investigators and upper management.
• Ensure full understanding and adherence to all policies, procedures, and customer requirements across your team.
• Implement and track disciplinary actions in alignment with expectations.
• Respond with urgency and accuracy to leadership inquiries regarding case status, report quality, personnel actions, and timekeeping.
