The Commission for the Protection of Persons with Disabilities (CPPD) is an independent state agency whose mission is to protect adults with disabilities from the abusive acts or omissions of their caregivers through investigation, oversight, public awareness, and prevention. Through education, collaboration, and community engagement, CPPD works to increase awareness, strengthen prevention efforts, and promote the safety, dignity, and rights of adults with disabilities across the Commonwealth. The Investigations Manager’s primary responsibility is to supervise Investigators in their investigation and response of complaints of abuse and neglect, referred by the Intake Unit within the Commission for the Protection of Persons with Disabilities, and ensure compliance with M.G.L. Chapter 19C requirements, CPPD regulations 118 CMR. The Investigations Manager will provide assistance and guidance when a two-person home visit may be required; provide guidance and consultation to Investigators in the assessment of risk to the alleged victim and work with CPPD Program Units, such as Intake, Oversight and SPDU to ensure appropriate protective services recommendations are made to ensure the alleged victim’s safety.
