About The Position

The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) is the agency charged with licensing and regulating State of Florida businesses and professionals. The Division of Condominiums, Timeshares, and Mobile Homes, within the Bureau of Standards and Registration, is seeking an Investigation Specialist II to handle Yacht & Ship applications and licensure. This in-office position ensures compliance with Florida Statutes and Administrative Rules for Yacht Salesperson, Yacht Broker, and Employing Broker licenses.

Requirements

• Two years of regulatory experience.
• Two years of experience researching and analyzing statutory issues.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply statutes, rules, and procedures.
• Ability to independently review and process applications for completeness, accuracy, and compliance requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively and clearly, both in writing and verbally, with the public and supervisor.
• Ability to accurately document activities, monitor deadlines and workloads, and use electronic licensing/document systems.
• Ability to handle confidential information properly and prioritize tasks.
• Must provide Social Security Number (SSN) and date of birth to complete background check.
• Must participate in direct deposit.

• Experience with Versa Regulation and OnBase electronic licensing/document systems.

Responsibilities

• Independently reviews and processes initial, renewal, and other applications for Yacht Salesperson, Yacht Broker, and Employing Broker licenses.
• Ensures all required forms, fees, and supporting documentation are submitted and reviewed in compliance with state regulations.
• Verifies applicants’ compliance with bonding and background check requirements.
• Ensures background checks are completed and reviews results for criminal history in accordance with FDLE and Department requirements.
• Provides written and verbal guidance to applicants and licensees regarding application procedures, renewal requirements, license upgrades or downgrades, and affiliation with Florida Employing Brokers.
• Documents accurate and timely records of licensing activities in Versa Regulation and OnBase.
• Monitors licensure periods and expiration dates, and ensures timely notification and processing of license renewals and status changes in accordance with statutory deadlines.
• Effectively monitors workload to ensure applications are processed in a timely manner.
• Communicates with the supervisor frequently.
• Performs other related work as required.
