About The Position

The Inventory Specialist performs all shipping, receiving, and inventory control tasks and associated ERP transactions. This role supports supply chain projects as requested. The specialist will perform ERP system transactions related to receiving, inventory movements, material issues, transfers, and goods receipts using available equipment including handheld scanners. They will receive incoming materials, verify quantities, condition, and documentation against purchase orders and packing slips, and put away goods receipts into designated inventory locations accurately and in a timely manner. The role involves pulling, kitting, and staging materials for various orders and production requirements, and replenishing shop floor materials to ensure uninterrupted production. Additionally, the specialist will crate instruments and package spare parts and other products, operate material handling equipment safely, perform cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and maintain inventory integrity. They will also track and verify inventory counts, prepare materials for return to vendors, and contribute to a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. Active participation in continuous improvement initiatives is expected, along with performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license required.
Able to lift and carry up to thirty-five (35) pounds.
Ability to work independently to achieve targets and ensure accuracy of ones own work.
Proficient using ERP and peripheral devices to perform inventory and shipping transactions inventory transactions.
Experienced troubleshooting inventory or transaction discrepancies; including exporting and evaluating reports to Excel.
Strong understanding of inventory control practices, material handling procedures, and warehouse operations.
Able to operate and maintain qualifications on necessary equipment including powered industrial trucks and hoist.
Requires extensive standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, grasping, and lifting for up to 10 hours per day, standard 40 hour work week (Occasional overtime per business needs).
Comfortable in adjusting work assignments, tasks, or areas to meet evolving customer service needs.

Responsibilities

Performs ERP system transactions related to receiving, inventory movements, material issues, transfers, and goods receipts; using all available equipment including handheld scanners.
Receives incoming materials and verify quantities, condition, and documentation against purchase orders and packing slips.
Puts away all goods receipts into designated inventory locations in a timely and accurate manner.
Pulls, kits, and stages materials for Shop Orders, Spare Parts orders, customer orders, production requirements, and stockroom order-picking activities.
Owns replenishment of shop floor materials ensuring production runs uninterrupted.
Crates instruments and packages spare parts and other products such as engineering samples; accurately completes all associated check sheets.
Operates all material handling equipment safely and efficiently; performs all required pre-operation inspections of hoist and powered industrial trucks.
Performs scheduled and ad hoc cycle counts and investigates inventory discrepancies to maintain inventory accuracy.
Maintains inventory integrity through accurate transaction processing, adherence to inventory control procedures, and keeping inventory secure.
Stocks materials in designated locations and ensure proper identification and organization of inventory.
Tracks and verifies inventory counts of received materials and reports discrepancies as required.
Verifies return authorizations from Purchasing and prepares materials for return to vendors.
Initiates actions to ensure a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and stockroom environment.
Actively participates in continuous improvement initiatives related to shipping & receiving, inventory control, and shipping.
Performs other duties as assigned.
