About The Position

Symbrant Aviation Services is seeking an organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Inventory Specialist to manage their parts inventory, coordinate purchasing activities, and ensure technicians have the materials they need to keep airport operations running without interruption. This role plays a vital part in supporting maintenance operations by maintaining accurate inventory records, ordering parts and supplies, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring timely delivery of materials. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can effectively communicate with vendors, technicians, and management while maintaining accurate records and inventory controls.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in inventory management, purchasing, warehouse operations, or procurement.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience using inventory management systems or CMMS (UpKeep experience is a plus).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong communication and vendor management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in industrial maintenance, aviation, manufacturing, or facilities maintenance preferred.
  • Forklift certification is a plus but not required.
  • Experience in aviation maintenance inventory or industrial maintenance operations.
  • Knowledge of maintenance spare parts, electrical components, bearings, motors, gearboxes, conveyor components, or airport ground support equipment.
  • Experience coordinating with multiple vendors and managing purchase orders from request through delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily inventory operations for maintenance parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Organize inventory in a clean, safe, and efficient manner.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular inventory cycle counts.
  • Monitor inventory levels and replenish stock before shortages occur.
  • Create purchase orders and coordinate the procurement of maintenance parts and materials.
  • Follow up with vendors regarding quotations, order confirmations, shipping status, delivery schedules, and backorders.
  • Coordinate emergency parts orders to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Research and source replacement parts from manufacturers and suppliers.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and assist in obtaining competitive pricing.
  • Track open purchase orders and ensure timely receipt of all materials.
  • Report inventory status, shortages, purchasing activity, and key inventory metrics to management.
  • Work closely with supervisors and technicians to identify upcoming parts requirements for preventive maintenance and repair projects.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the company's inventory and purchasing systems.
  • Ensure the stockroom remains organized, properly labeled, and compliant with company safety standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve inventory accuracy and purchasing efficiency.
