About The Position

Etched is hiring a working-lead Inventory Site Lead for its Milpitas site. The role supervises the Milpitas Inventory team, including receiving staff, warehouse coordinators, and material handlers, and owns inventory-record accuracy across production, engineering labs, and contract manufacturers. The lead sets standards and processes while also working hands-on on the floor when counts, receipts, or investigations require it. The position works closely with the SMT line, Procurement, Engineering, and Finance. The role oversees receiving and material handling in NetSuite or another ERP, inventory control, cycle counts and variance investigations, kitting and internal fulfillment, warehouse safety and organization, SOPs, and material movement between Etched facilities. It also plans space, staffing, and systems to support increased volumes and additional production lines. The team is fully in person. This role is based at Etched’s Milpitas site; the company describes its team location as San Jose (Santana Row). Compensation is $120,000–$150,000 annually, plus equity.

  • Experience running cycle-count programs and investigating variances to root cause.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations teams.
  • Comfort working on the floor in ESD-controlled areas, lifting up to 50 lb, and standing for extended periods.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation between San Jose and Milpitas.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing consigned or customer-furnished material at contract manufacturers.
  • Prior lab or warehouse experience in a semiconductor or hardware environment.

  • Familiarity with startup operations or fast-paced R&D cycles.
  • Forklift certification; training on the company's 8,000 lb forklift will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve receipt discrepancies the same day with Supply Chain, Logistics, and Engineering, and oversee packaging and outbound shipments.
  • Maintain accurate on-hand, allocated, in-transit, and consigned-at-contract-manufacturer inventory balances.
  • Run the cycle-count program; investigate variances to root cause, correct records, and close process gaps to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure kits for in-house and contract-manufacturer builds are complete, match the released BOM revision, and are staged on time.
  • Serve as an escalation point for engineers requesting parts, tools, equipment, and supplies; ensure materials are picked, staged, and distributed for builds and testing without delay.
  • Flag shortages and substitutions before they stop a build.
  • Keep lab and warehouse spaces clean, safe, and organized; own ESD, 5S, and safety programs, including handling requirements for ESD-sensitive, fragile, and high-value parts.
  • Oversee use of the 8,000 lb forklift, pallet jacks, and carts, and ensure team members are trained and certified.
