About The Position

The Inventory Management/Product Movement specialist's main purpose is to execute inventory movements within the Tyson Distribution/Warehouse network to maintain adequate on-hand supply to fill customer orders and to maintain effective space utilization across distribution centers (DCs) and Outside Cold Storage (OCS) facilities. This position is the point of contact for all product movement issues and solutions from production planning, Plant management personnel, outside warehouse managers, internal and external transportation teams, and Business Units through the Tyson organization. The incumbent is responsible for collaborating with supply planning, inventory control, transportation, warehouses and third-party logistics (OCS), customer service, and business units to ensure timely inventory positioning with the objective of maximizing customer satisfaction in the areas of fill rate efficiency and quality assurance. Strategically coordinate regional deployments for seasonal pre-build inventory by developing and executing a stocking strategy that efficiently meets regional and centralized distribution network needs. Manage inventory within the distribution center campus and OCS facilities, including but not limited to: deep chill, blast storage, donations, un-allocable, and all quality assurance related product. Monitor inventory levels within the four walls of the distribution center, including fresh and frozen categories, throughout the year to minimize capacity constraints. Monitor volume in distribution center and OCS facilities and strategically look for ways to improve the process as well as cut down on the number of touches in efforts to minimize cost. Work with customer service and transportation on possibilities of direct to customer shipments from warehouses and simplify the process. Build deployment loads within the network based on IBP recommended shipments, ensuring no mixed environment orders, while collaborating with the transportation team to ensure maximum truck weight and cube. Identify shortages caused by late deployments, supply, or warehouse issues and work with supply planning to minimize occurrences. This position requires analytical and organizational skills, as well as the ability to make decisions considering many concurrent variables. Other duties as assigned by manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or experience equivalent.
  • 2 plus years in Supply Chain or Distribution.
  • Extensive knowledge of Tyson’s supply chain and network optimization and processes preferred.
  • Advanced computer skills required (proficient in Excel, Power Point, documentation, e-mails).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • SAP knowledge.
  • Data management skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Transportation systems.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
