This role is responsible for developing and maintaining cost-effective maintenance and monitoring programs for inventory to maximize usage and minimize expenses. The position establishes a follow-up program to monitor the effectiveness of supply systems and coordinates the appropriate level of inventory quantities required throughout sites. The Inventory Control Coordinator Senior serves as the main contact person for inquiries involving inventory transfers between facilities and resolves various procurement issues, including vendor disputes, invoice discrepancies, expedited processing of emergency orders, and handling damaged or defective product. This role also reviews and recommends changes and improvements to inventory data levels, provides recommendations on inventory levels and possible consolidation opportunities to management, and serves as a procurement resource by maintaining product catalogs. Additionally, the position develops and maintains systems to track inventory age, overstocks, and vendor exchanges, collaborates with Corporate Purchasing to review requisitions, verify orders, place orders, and ensure vendor delivery, and regularly produces and reviews usage and cost reports. The role identifies product standardization and cost-saving opportunities, provides analytical data to support recommendations, and coordinates activities associated with product conversions. Finally, the Inventory Control Coordinator Senior builds and maintains working relationships with vendors, is responsible for verifying and reconciling vendor credits and exchanges, and ensures vendor contracts are loaded correctly into computer systems.
