About The Position

The Inventory Controller is responsible for working with the Purchasing and Warehouse teams to manage inventory effectively. This role involves reviewing stock requests, maintaining the materials catalogue, controlling inventory levels through analysis and reporting, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The position also focuses on continuous improvement by identifying obsolete inventory, optimizing warehousing, and standardizing processes.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years proven experience with supply chain operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse processes, systems, and procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interact well with end users and vendors.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute work with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in ERP Systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and ability to learn new data management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Review all new stock request forms, ensuring accuracy according to OGC New Item Request Form requirements.
  • Perform data maintenance of the materials catalogue, including descriptions, keywords, cross references, equipment references, and bin locations.
  • Control inventory levels by reviewing, analyzing, reporting, and directing corrective action based on historical data.
  • Generate inventory count schedules and review all variances for accuracy.
  • Actively manage major consumables, critical spares, and update physical inventory data for month-end, including reagents, fuel, and other bulk commodities.
  • Develop and implement reporting for reviewing monthly inventory value, including support on value fluctuations.
  • Review outstanding sales orders against physical inventory to update or cancel orders.
  • Ensure compliance with all company governance, audit, and reporting requirements.
  • Report on initiatives and KPI performance to site and senior leadership, highlighting risks, opportunities, and progress against targets.
  • Work with departments to identify obsolete inventory to reduce overall inventory holdings.
  • Identify warehousing optimizations and conduct trainings with end users to help them order materials using Pronto.
  • Review inventory against consumption to optimize inventory holdings based on consumption, cost, and lead times.
  • Confirm all hazardous materials are properly captured and approved in ChemAlert (Chemical Management Software).
  • Standardize and document processes.
  • Champion efficiency initiatives such as automation and data-driven decision-making.
  • Perform other responsibilities and functions as assigned.
