About The Position

RJW Logistics Group is seeking an Inventory Control Supervisor for the 2nd Shift. This role is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of workers involved in inventorying materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts in stockrooms, warehouses, or yards. The position reports to the Inventory Control Assistant Manager and involves supervising IC teams across multiple facilities on the 2nd shift to ensure all department processes are followed. The supervisor will assist warehouse operations, communicate transitional information between shifts, and manage the daily activities of inventory control staff. Key responsibilities include ensuring adequate inventory levels, evaluating inventory needs, implementing strategies to meet those needs, managing staff performance, and overseeing computer entry and paperwork flow.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of previous warehouse supervisory/managerial experience.
  • Minimum 2-4 years related experience and/or training in a warehouse environment.
  • Experience operating a forklift and cherry picker/high lift.
  • PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database.
  • Knowledge of DOT Regulations and Requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Proficient computer skills, including data entry.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills representing the ability to lead, manage, motivate, and develop associates.
  • Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.

  • Must be able to stand; walk; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl.
  • Must be able to activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.
  • Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
  • Regularly works in an indoor/office environment and required to sit and/or use repetitive hand motion.
  • Frequently required to talk, hear, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.
  • Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time.
  • Must have the ability to read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
  • Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones.
  • Must hear speech out of both ears in the normal range of 30 db. at 500 to 2000 Hz range.
  • Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances.

Nice To Haves

  • Some college preferred.
  • Experience using WMS software a plus (Synapse and TMW software preferred).
  • Forklift certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising and leading a team of Leads, material handlers, admin clerks, and inventory clerks on the 2nd shift.
  • Delegating work and responsibilities to subordinates.
  • Overseeing all inventory accounts and records across multi-site locations for all 2nd shift IC staff.
  • Completing necessary documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on-time.
  • Compiling inventory reports for review and analysis.
  • Using motorized equipment including: Order Picker, Sit-Down Forklift, Stand-Up Reach Truck.
  • Ensuring the timely packaging, receiving, procurement, shipping, and invoicing of stock and material.
  • Evaluating and scheduling shifts for inventory personnel at the current facility and assisting 1st shift supervisors with scheduling needs.
  • Performing and supervising timely inventory audits.
  • Ensuring compliance with inventory processes and procedures, as well as contractual obligations.
  • Analyzing stock inventory and researching issues per client requests.
  • Training Inventory Control Clerks and Leads, as well as Inbound personnel.
  • Helping maintain proper procedures throughout the warehouse by addressing incorrect practices with leadership.
  • Physically counting articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets.
  • Utilizing computer terminals to properly account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.
  • Process improvement and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with a "roll-up-your-sleeves" attitude.
  • Problem-solving skills.
