About The Position

Gourmet Foods International is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Inventory Control Supervisor to support and oversee all inventory control-related activities across multiple departments. This role is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, managing inventory processes, supporting warehouse operations, and leading team members in a fast-paced distribution environment.

Requirements

  • Experience with inventory systems, accounting software, and spreadsheet software
  • Forklift certification or ability to become certified
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret safety procedures, operational documents, and inventory reports
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced warehouse environment
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and work throughout warehouse shifts
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds as needed
  • Ability to work in refrigerated, freezer, and warehouse environments
  • Consistent, regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.
  • Employees must be able to work scheduled shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed to support business and operational needs.

Nice To Haves

  • 1–3 years of inventory management experience
  • 2+ years of warehouse or distribution experience
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Experience identifying and resolving inventory discrepancies and operational issues
  • Strong written communication and reporting skills
  • Quality management and continuous improvement experience
  • Experience working in food distribution, warehouse, or logistics operations

Responsibilities

  • Oversee inventory accuracy throughout warehouse operations
  • Manage perpetual inventory cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation processes
  • Develop and maintain inventory control procedures and operational standards
  • Ensure the integrity of warehouse management and inventory tracking systems
  • Supervise inventory control team members and daily workflow activities
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management for team members
  • Address operational issues, resolve discrepancies, and promote accountability across the team
  • Investigate and resolve inventory variances through audits and root cause analysis
  • Maintain inventory records for product quantities, movements, and adjustments
  • Partner with Operations and Warehouse leadership to improve inventory accuracy and operational efficiency
  • Support food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance standards throughout operations
  • Monitor inventory movement and identify opportunities for process improvement
