About The Position

This position reports to the Inventory Control Supervisor and is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties. The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the perpetual inventory through cycle counting and inventory maintenance.

Requirements

• One year of previous experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Ability to obtain JOST International Fork Truck Certifications for sit down and stand up.
• Working knowledge of inventory control procedures for shipping, receiving, and material handling or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability, strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently; must be comfortable in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
• Ability to bring forth continuous improvement ideas and implement where appropriate.
• Working knowledge of MRP systems; SAP, AS400 and advanced skills Microsoft Office; Excel, Word.
• Ability to gain knowledge of company products.
• Comply with quality, environmental, safety and JOST company policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

• A background in automotive or heavy truck preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform collaborative cycle counts.
• Assist investigations and resolve inventory discrepancies via cross-functional team root cause analysis and process improvements.
• Efficiently and accurately enter all relevant System Inventory Transactions.
• Work to maintain a high level of associate morale and recognition.
• Work closely with staff and supervisor to develop and document inventory control procedures.
• Assist in the enforcement of the 5S and LEAN housekeeping initiatives.
• Participate in corrective action/problem solving teams to address root cause issues for long term solutions.
• Perform any additional duties that have not been specifically stated but which may be assigned, and those that are logically and properly inherent to this position.
