About The Position

St. Luke's is seeking a dedicated Inventory Control Specialist to join their team on a full-time night shift. This role is crucial for maintaining inventory levels and ensuring the smooth operation of supply management within assigned areas. The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for ordering and delivering supplies, managing inventory control, communicating issues to supervisors, and entering transactions into the computer system. This position also involves managing supply locations in clinical areas, updating inventory records, assisting with product conversions, evaluations, and recalls, and ensuring a neat and orderly work environment that meets regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent required.
  • Must be accurate in dealing with figures.
  • Inventory control background.
  • Prior computer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Orders and delivers supplies and maintains inventory control in assigned areas.
  • Communicates inventory problems to the Supervisor and pertinent supply information to the appropriate department.
  • Enters Storeroom and Linen Room transactions into the computer system.
  • Manages supply locations in Clinical areas, including updating par papers, shelf labeling, and rotation of supplies.
  • Assists with the handling of product conversions, evaluations, and recalls.
  • Ensures adequate stock turnover rate.
  • Enters issues, returns, and credits into the computer for all supplies and linen.
  • Expedites with Purchasing items that are out of stock or low stock.
  • Communicates the status of out-of-stock or low-stock items to the Inventory Control Distribution Manager, Purchasing, and the user department.
  • Updates Par Stock papers.
  • Maintains proper shelf labels of all supplies being stocked in designated areas.
  • Files requisitions and reports in an orderly manner.
  • Handles Linen in accordance with Hospital Policy and Infection Control standards.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly area according to EOC, DOH, JCACHO requirements.
