About The Position

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory throughout the distribution center and supporting warehouse operations with inventory-related research, adjustments, and problem-solving. This role works closely with Distribution, Customer Service, and Operations teams to ensure inventory accuracy and support timely order fulfillment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of experience in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve inventory issues.
  • Experience working with a Warehouse Management System (WMS), preferably Microsoft Dynamics AX or a similar platform.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Experience using RF scanners in a warehouse environment.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous inventory control experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification preferred or ability to become certified.

Responsibilities

  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies affecting customer orders and warehouse operations.
  • Perform inventory adjustments and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Assist with SKU conversions and inventory transitions.
  • Update case pack quantities and product information as needed.
  • Use RF scanners to verify inventory locations and adjust inventory counts.
  • Process backorders for items that cannot be located during order fulfillment.
  • Verify inventory transactions and product movements within the Warehouse Management System (Dynamics).
  • Create license plates and carton labels as needed.
  • Partner with Customer Service and warehouse teams to resolve shortages, backorders, and reservation issues.
  • Assist with cycle count activities and maintain inventory records.
  • Support SKU relocations and slotting changes to improve picking efficiency.
  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Support 5S and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the distribution center.
  • Follow company standards for safety, quality, productivity, and attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
