As an Inventory Control Specialist at our Gurnee, IL facility, you will ensure the accuracy of inventory records and optimize material flow to support production and distribution operations. You will leverage system expertise, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to drive inventory integrity, reduce waste, and improve overall supply chain performance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Experience in inventory control, materials control, or materials management required.
  • Experience with SAP MRP systems required.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates timely and accurate inventory transactions to maintain inventory integrity.
  • Performs inventory control, shipping, and receiving activities to ensure the efficient movement, storage, and distribution of materials throughout the site.
  • Maintains inventory accuracy through cycle counting, transaction processing, and warehouse audits.
  • Manage and monitor inventory levels, ensuring accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and reconciliations.
  • Utilize SAP MRP to plan and execute material requirements, ensuring material availability for production.
  • Oversee receiving, storage, and shipping processes in accordance with established procedures.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Production, Purchasing, and Logistics to improve inventory flow and processes.
  • Analyze inventory data using Microsoft Excel to identify discrepancies, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Performs daily cycle counts and investigates inventory discrepancies to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Ensures inventory transactions, material locations, and process order data are accurate in SAP and aligned with eDHR.
  • Coordinates incoming receipts, material movements, warehouse transfers, and outbound shipments.
  • Reads work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions to pick, stage, receive, store, or ship materials.
  • Unloads, verifies, labels, stores, and organizes incoming materials using established warehouse procedures.
  • Weighs, counts, and verifies materials to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with company standards.
  • Follows up on blocked material dispositions and other inventory-related transactions.
  • Performs routine warehouse audits to verify material identification, organization, and storage locations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce inventory waste, obsolescence, and shrinkage.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members on inventory control best practices; may assist in leading daily activities.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding inventory status, risks, and issues.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to materials management and logistics.
  • Utilize collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams) to support communication and coordination.
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Comply with all company security policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
