About The Position

As an Inventory Control and Returns Manager, you are a key team member in monitoring and maintaining the overall accuracy, reporting, and adequacy of Operating Company inventory and product returns. This role manages all aspects of inventory control, returns, and driver check-ins, including managing the physical counting and necessary reporting processes. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments to streamline inventory operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
  • 3+ years of inventory experience in a warehouse or similar environment with in-depth inventory systems/WMS knowledge
  • Must have operational & analytical hands-on experience with inventory management to assist with warehouse activities (providing leadership and maintaining active presences on the floor in real time)
  • Forklift and/or material-handling equipment experience, experience in a high-volume distribution center
  • Must be able to work the schedule/assigned times
  • Intermediate computer skills to include MS Office Suite and Outlook
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, analyze trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and intermediate general computer skills.
  • Able to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout the shift

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Bachelors degree in a related area
  • 5+ years of inventory experience in a warehouse environment
  • 4+ years of management and/or leadership experience
  • Foodservice distribution and/or Direct Store Delivery industry experience
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP Warehouse Management System (WMS) platform

Responsibilities

  • Supervises associates, including staffing, training, coaching, performance management, and problem resolution.
  • Interpret and analyze numerical data and perform a basic level of inventory control analysis, handle stock adjustments, and perform inventory and cycle counts.
  • Counts inventory materials and posts total inventory records.
  • Identifies root causes of variances between clerical computations and physical count of stock, and adjusts errors and/or investigates discrepancies.
  • Monitors inventory rotations and makes recommendations as needed.
  • Prepares report(s) such as inventory balances, weekly cycle counts, and production breakdowns.
  • Reviews and investigates daily reports.
  • Maintains shrinkage at or below the company standard.
  • Create and implement best practices and solutions to enhance inventory control and accuracy.
  • Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the check-in and product return process.
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate counts and item maintenance verification, and notification
  • Communicates the returns process with vendors, customers, and manages employees involved in the returns process.
  • Review and inspect all forms, reports, and records relating to product returns.
  • Inspect and reconcile quantities on forms and documents and return into inventory.
  • Coordinate returns clerk activities with warehouse management.
  • Support warehouse activities as operationally necessary, including the use of forklifts and other material-handling equipment, when properly trained and authorized.
  • Provide hands-on leadership within the warehouse, maintaining an active presence on the floor, and working alongside the operations team to support inventory accuracy and operational needs.
  • Utilize WMS, ERP, and inventory management systems to monitor inventory levels, research discrepancies, analyze trends, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Manage and maintain inventory accuracy within a high-volume distribution center, including cycle counts, physical inventories, adjustments, reconciliation, product movement, and root-cause analysis.
  • Oversee inventory processes across a large-scale, fast-paced distribution operation and ensure established inventory procedures and controls are consistently followed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
