About The Position

The Inventory Control Analyst enables business units to optimize inventory levels, empowering each business unit to exceed customer expectations. By applying analytics to comprehensive Supply Chain data sets, they can advise each business unit on the best decision, for both the business and the customer. The Inventory Control Analyst utilizes and applies advanced inventory management knowledge and experience to enable business units to optimize inventory levels. This role helps to develop tools and processes used in supporting inventory control functions. The Inventory Control Analyst Senior Staff will help train and develop other analysists. This role will work with an Enterprise-wide network of people and will be a point of contact for assigned business units. The Inventory Control Analyst ensures each business unit’s Inventory activities are coordinated with other supply chain stakeholders, Entergy Departments, and the sites themselves. The key supply chain stakeholders for this role are; Category Management, Central Procurement Group, Central Contracting Group, Procurement Engineering, Capital Projects and Decommissioning. Key operational stakeholders for this role are; Power Generation, Nuclear, Transmission, and Distribution. Other key functional stakeholders for this position are; Tax, Finance, Risk Management, Safety, Human Resources, Legal, and third-party supply chain vendors. This role will enable business unit inventory decision making by understanding the demand plan, leveraging predictive data analytics, networking with people, developing streamlined processes, and effectively communicating the vision of Inventory optimization. The Analyst operates autonomously and acts as a resource for other Analysts. These duties shall be performed in a manner that ensures inventory is optimized in the most cost effective, efficient, and strategic method with strict adherence to Entergy’s policies, procedures, and core values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Statistics, Logistics, Economics, or other related discipline
  • Minimum of 1+ years of inventory management and supply chain experience OR in lieu of a degree, minimum 5+ years of inventory management and supply chain experience.
  • Technical Advanced understanding of business and supply chain operations within Entergy; including how Entergy manages inventory; experience and knowledge of supply chain systems and processes; Highly skillful in organization of demand planning across business units; understanding of how to network with other departments to optimize inventory levels; High proficiency in developing complex inventory strategies, based on business unit’s objectives; Comprehensive knowledge and experience implementing inventory management processes, such as, but not limited to, cycle counting and shrink management; Demonstrated proficiency implementing multiple continuous improvement projects, related to inventory management, concurrently; Advanced knowledge of warehousing, distribution, and fulfillment processes, such as, but not limited to, yard management, receiving, put-away, packing, sorting, and shipping; Advanced experience implementing inventory management software systems; advises working groups on best practice; Demonstrated ability to lead others through human performance and behavior management techniques, outstanding interpersonal skills with a focus on development of individual team members; Advanced understanding of relationship management between clients, other supply chain specialists, vendors and other third parties for materials; Comprehensive knowledge and application of document management and control standards; including management and maintenance of filing systems (hard copy and electronic); Advanced understanding and application in working across categories; recommend opportunities to improve business performance; knowledge of when to liaise with other departments.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience with data coding, automation, and analytical tooling, including Python, SQL, R, or similar scripting languages.
  • Ability to design, develop, and support analytical models, forecasting algorithms, and automated workflows that enhance inventory optimization.
  • Experience leveraging AI‑driven tools, including machine learning applications, predictive analytics platforms, large‑language‑model assistants, and enterprise AI insights solutions to improve demand forecasting, risk identification, surplus analysis, and decision‑making.
  • Ability to interpret AI‑generated outputs, validate model recommendations, and embed AI‑supported processes into daily inventory management workflows.
  • Supply Chain Certification from an industry accreditation organization such as CPSM, APICS, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Actively promote strong safety behaviors and ensure the team always puts safety first; Utilize key tools, programs, and proactive field visits to assure standards and behaviors; Monitor and influence stakeholders to proactively identify any safety concerns.
  • Perform storm role duties as assigned through the Storm Assignment Management System (SAMS) and/or the nuclear Emergency Response Organization (ERO)
  • Optimize the Enterprise’s inventory to gain back working capital for the business to use. Ensures Material readiness to support reliable and safe generation and delivery of Power.
  • Conduct business unit’s needs assessments to determine customer requirements; attend stakeholder meetings where appropriate; Perform insightful data analyses to determine potential business risk associated with inventory management; coordinate with stakeholders as required; Develop, deploy, and train on tools and processes used in all aspects of Inventory management. Educate junior analysts and customers on how to effectively implement Inventory management tools. Implement LEAN methodology and efficiencies into processes. Develop and track performance metrics on Inventory accuracy and growth. Apply the principles and practices of inventory management (Demand Planning, warehouse flow, inventory turns, cycle counting, processes auditing, and perform); Analyze Purchase Orders and Material Requests with Demand plan to track inventory optimization, work with stakeholders to update processes, and effectively implement required changes; Identify stranded and surplus inventory, work with stakeholders to remove and leverage capital; Identify and resolve inventory for Over, Short, Damaged, or Discrepant issues, etc.; Build and implement an inventory management strategy for assigned business unit; Build and implement a change management and communication strategy for new inventory initiatives and processes; Using data analysis identify new areas for business units to optimize inventory; Source industry leading inventory management concepts, techniques, and technologies, implement within the Enterprise to streamline the inventory optimization process Develop and maintain a network of people throughout the Enterprise who enable the implementation of inventory optimization.
  • Ensure all requirements for savings, diversity, document retention, bidding, contractor safety and other areas of compliance are met.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure supply chain is addressing inventory management needs pro-actively and in the most beneficial way for Entergy; Work with stakeholders to analyze and develop company position inventory management; Establish/maintain relationships with suppliers/partners, based on the ethical business practices as set forth in the Standards of Conduct and Integrity and Entergy's SC Polices.
  • Act as an Inventory Management Group point of contact with stakeholders and potentially suppliers; Maintain open communications between suppliers, stakeholders and within supply chain to ensure that prompt, thorough, accurate, pertinent and complete information is provided.
