About The Position

The Inventory Control Analyst is responsible for monitoring, investigating, and resolving inventory discrepancies, shortages, missing inventory, and parts shipment issues across warehouse locations. This role also manages various claims programs, reconciles invoices, generates cycle counts, and supports Parts Inventory Control (PIC) initiatives to maintain inventory accuracy. The analyst will research and resolve backorder transfers, non-returnable parts discrepancies, aged purchase orders, and stock replenishment order acknowledgements. Additionally, they will coordinate and process claims for direct ship suppliers, dealers, and carriers for damaged, lost, or missing parts, and collaborate with various internal teams to identify issues and implement solutions. Cross-training within the Inventory Control team and performing additional duties as needed are also part of this role.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-3 years of experience in inventory management and customer service.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other job-related software.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to accuracy.

Nice To Haves

• Previous Caterpillar Parts experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, investigate, and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, missing inventory, and parts shipment issues across warehouse locations.
• Manage warranty claims, vendor discrepancy claims, Rapid/RAM returns, SPM returns, and other Caterpillar-related returns and claims programs.
• Reconcile Caterpillar and vendor credit invoices, review purchase orders, and partner with Accounting to resolve invoicing and inventory accounting discrepancies.
• Generate and oversee cycle counts, investigate picking exceptions, and support Parts Inventory Control (PIC) initiatives to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Research and resolve backorder transfers, non-returnable parts discrepancies, aged purchase orders, and stock replenishment order acknowledgements.
• Coordinate and process claims for direct ship suppliers, DIPS dealers, UPS, and other carriers for damaged, lost, or missing parts.
• Collaborate with warehouse, customer care, administration, and inventory control teams to identify issues, implement solutions, and support daily operations.
• Cross-train within the Inventory Control team and perform additional inventory management and parts accounting duties as needed.
