About The Position
Colonial Electric Supply is hiring an experienced Truck Driver for local routes between Piscataway and Moonachie, NJ. This full-time position offers a Monday-Friday schedule with an early morning start, allowing drivers to be home daily. The role involves inspecting and loading the truck, delivering electrical components to commercial job sites and company branches, and safely unloading materials while providing excellent customer service. Drivers will also operate material handling equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of proven experience driving a 26ft box truck or similar commercial vehicle.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (MVR background screening required).
- Ability to pass a DOT physical/certification and meet OSHA requirements.
- Ability to frequently lift and move up to 50 lbs during deliveries.
- High School Diploma or GED.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily pre-trip safety inspections and oversee the loading of the truck.
- Drive dedicated local routes to deliver electrical components to commercial job sites and company branches.
- Safely unload materials for clients and provide friendly, professional customer service at every stop.
- Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, in a safe manner.
