About The Position

As an Inventory Associate at CarMax, you help ensure customers have a seamless experience by tracking, moving, and preparing vehicles for sale. The role offers hands-on experience in the auto industry and opportunities to learn CarMax’s business in a fast-paced environment. Work includes outdoor vehicle handling and reconditioning, and requires attention to detail, teamwork, and compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements.

Requirements

• High motivation and attention to detail in a dynamic work environment.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and adapt to changing environments.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Comfort working outdoors, including in noisy or inclement weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Accurately log and track vehicle deliveries and inventory.
• Move and position vehicles across the lot for customer access and viewing.
• Maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
• Clean, vacuum, and detail vehicles to meet customer expectations.
• Collaborate with the team to learn and apply best practices for customer experiences.
• Follow CarMax Environmental, Health and Safety requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Benefits

• Eligible full-time hourly or commissioned associates can accrue up to 48 hours of sick time per year.
• Eligible full-time hourly or commissioned associates receive 80 to 200 hours of vacation time per year after a 90-day waiting period, depending on years of continuous service.
• Eligible full-time hourly or commissioned associates receive eight hours of pay for each of six scheduled paid holidays per year, plus one floating holiday.
• Holiday Premium Pay may apply when an eligible associate works on a scheduled holiday due to business need.
• Full-time salaried associates receive paid time away as needed for sick time, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, and floating holidays, subject to manager approval.
