About The Position

ATALCO is seeking an experienced Inventory Analyst to support inventory accuracy, materials availability, stocking strategy, and warehouse data integrity for the Gramercy refinery. The role analyzes inventory levels, maintains accurate item master data and stocking parameters, administers cycle count programs, and identifies ways to reduce excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory without compromising operational readiness. The Inventory Analyst is a key link between Warehouse, Maintenance, Operations, Reliability, Procurement, and Finance. The successful candidate ensures that critical spares and consumables are available when needed, inventory records reflect physical stock, and stocking decisions are supported by data and consumption history. The position suits a detail-oriented, analytical supply chain professional with ERP, MRO inventory, and data analysis experience in industrial, manufacturing, mining, metals, chemical, or heavy industrial environments.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience in inventory analysis, materials management, storeroom or warehouse operations, planning, or supply chain analytics.
Experience managing MRO, spare parts, and consumable inventories in an industrial environment.
Experience administering cycle count programs and resolving inventory variances.
Experience setting and maintaining min/max levels, reorder points, and safety stock.
Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, mining, metals, chemical, refining, energy, or other heavy industrial operations.
Strong understanding of inventory management principles, MRO materials management, and storeroom operations.
Knowledge of inventory control practices, internal controls, and physical inventory procedures.
Experience with SAP or a similar ERP system, including inventory and materials management modules.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and large data sets; proficiency with Outlook, Teams, and Power BI or similar reporting tools.
Ability to interpret bills of material, equipment records, purchase orders, and supplier lead-time data.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail and data accuracy.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present analysis to operations and finance stakeholders.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced operating environment.
Strong customer service orientation and ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret information; write reports and basic business correspondence; present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) required prior to offer acceptance.
Must successfully complete Atalco Gramercy’s required drug screening and physical examination.
MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) training must be completed upon hire.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, Operations, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent education and relevant experience will be considered.
Experience supporting industrial maintenance, turnaround, or capital project material requirements.
Experience with inventory optimization, criticality analysis, or reliability-centered spares programs.
APICS/ASCM (CPIM, CSCP), CPSM, CSCMP, or related supply chain certification.
Experience with barcoding, mobile scanning, or warehouse management systems.
Experience in aluminum, metals, mining, manufacturing, refining, petrochemical, or heavy industrial operations.

Responsibilities

Maintain inventory record accuracy across warehouses and satellite storerooms, including quantities, units of measure, bin locations, and item descriptions.
Administer the cycle count program, including schedules, assignments, variance research, and root-cause analysis.
Investigate and resolve inventory variances, negative balances, unposted issues, and receipt discrepancies with Warehouse and Accounting.
Process and document inventory adjustments, transfers, and write-offs in accordance with company policy and internal controls.
Support annual physical inventories and audit requests, including reconciliation and supporting documentation.
Improve item master data integrity by identifying duplicate items and ensuring standardized naming and accurate manufacturer part numbers.
Analyze consumption history, lead times, and demand variability to establish and maintain min/max levels, reorder points, safety stock, and economic order quantities.
Review and adjust MRO, critical spare, and consumable stocking parameters to balance material availability and working capital.
Identify excess, obsolete, slow-moving, and duplicate inventory and recommend redeployment, return, or write-off strategies.
Partner with Maintenance and Reliability to assess spare-part criticality and align stocking decisions with equipment risk and outage plans.
Support inventory value and turnover targets and explain period-over-period movement.
Recommend improvements to stocking strategy, storeroom layout, and replenishment processes using usage data.
Develop and maintain inventory reports covering stock status, turnover, aging, excess and obsolete exposure, fill rate, and cycle count accuracy.
Build and maintain analytical tools and dashboards in Excel and ERP reporting environments.
Provide inventory analysis and recommendations to Warehouse, Maintenance, Procurement, and Finance leadership.
Track inventory performance indicators and identify trends requiring corrective action.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close activities with inventory data and variance explanations.
Partner with the Warehouse Manager and storeroom staff to improve receiving, issuing, put-away, and material handling practices that affect inventory accuracy.
Support bin location optimization, labeling, barcoding, and storeroom organization initiatives.
Coordinate material availability for planned maintenance, outages, turnarounds, and capital projects.
Monitor open requisitions and purchase orders for stock replenishment and escalate shortages that put operations at risk.
Support kitting, staging, and reservation processes for scheduled work orders.
Work with Procurement Operations and Strategic Sourcing to align stocking levels with supplier lead times, minimum order quantities, and contract terms.
Support new item setup, item master changes, and standardization of stocked materials.
Maintain accurate inventory and material records in ERP systems and reporting tools.
Participate in supply chain planning meetings, inventory reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support compliance with internal controls, inventory policies, and audit requirements.
Complete Atalco Gramercy’s required drug screening and physical examination; obtain a TWIC before offer acceptance and complete MSHA training upon hire.
