About The Position

This Inventory Analyst 3 role focuses on ensuring material availability to support facility production by collaborating closely with suppliers, production schedulers, and operations teams. You will coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials according to production schedules, maintain accurate inventory planning parameters, and help align inventory systems with the plan for every part. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while working primarily on-site.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience as an inventory analyst or in a closely related inventory control or materials management role.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including using spreadsheets for data analysis, reporting, and tracking inventory and production metrics.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree required.
  • Strong technical aptitude and comfort working with computers and software programs such as MRP and ERP systems.
  • Ability to use and troubleshoot MRP and related planning systems to support material planning and scheduling.
  • Experience with inventory control, inventory management, and materials management in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of MTS (make-to-stock) or similar production planning strategies.
  • Verbal and written communication skills to convey information clearly and collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing documents, recording data, and monitoring work processes.
  • Problem-solving skills to address material shortages, scheduling conflicts, and process issues.
  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team and across departments.
  • Ability to analyze costs related to manufacturing, labor, and materials to support decision-making.
  • Ability to accurately document and record customer or client information and production data.
  • Basic mentoring skills to provide support and constructive performance feedback when needed.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping and production.
  • Previous experience with common office computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely execution of planned orders and schedules, and resolve issues that could impact material availability for production.
  • Work closely with facility production schedulers and operations personnel to support production schedules and point-of-use material availability.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy and maintain inventory systems planning parameters in alignment with the plan for every part to preserve planning integrity.
  • Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to production schedules.
  • Review and distribute production, work, and shipment schedules, and compile reports on inventory levels, costs, and related metrics.
  • Examine documents, materials, and products, and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards.
  • Review production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and material requirements and set material priorities.
  • Record production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures, to support accurate reporting and decision-making.
  • Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands and minimize shortages.
  • Revise production schedules when required due to design changes, labor or material shortages, or other interruptions, and communicate changes to stakeholders.
  • Distribute production schedules and work orders to departments to ensure clarity of expectations and timely execution.
  • Serve as a materials analyst responsible for procuring materials into the facility to ensure production demands are consistently met.
  • Complete daily short sheet reviews to identify and address material shortages or risks to production.
  • Manage escalations and work through past-due items to restore schedule adherence and material availability.
  • Check systems regularly to ensure parts are planning correctly and adjust parameters or escalate issues as needed.
  • Collaborate daily with the supply base and internal process partners to align on priorities, resolve issues, and improve material flow.
  • Use and troubleshoot MRP, ERP, and related planning systems to support accurate and efficient inventory management.
