About The Position

This position is responsible for preparing the procedure room and assisting the physician during cardiac catheterization and interventions. The role involves patient preparation, monitoring hemodynamic status, data retrieval, and equipment operation. The Invasive Cardiovascular Tech will also handle patient questions and concerns, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the procedure.

Requirements

  • Experience in cardiac catheterization procedures
  • Proficiency in assisting with stent placements, balloon angioplasties, heart valve replacements, and/or EP procedures
  • Ability to prepare and drape patients
  • Skill in responding to patient questions and concerns
  • Experience entering patient, procedure, and equipment details in a system
  • Ability to monitor patient hemodynamic status (electrocardiogram, blood pressure, chest pain)
  • Capability to retrieve imaging and pertinent data
  • Proficiency in calculating necessary data for physician interpretation
  • Skill in balancing, calibrating, and recording hemodynamic data
  • Ability to intervene in cardiopulmonary emergencies
  • Knowledge of operating equipment per departmental standards
  • Compliance with all safety guidelines/policies

Responsibilities

  • Prepares procedure room and scrubs/assist MD during cardiac catheterization and interventions including stent placements, balloon angioplasties, heart valve replacements, and/or EP procedures
  • Prepares and drapes patients for the process, responds to their questions alleviating any concerns regarding the procedure, and ensures patient comfort.
  • Enters patient, procedure and equipment details in the system.
  • Monitors patient hemodynamic status during procedure, including electrocardiogram, blood pressure, chest pain.
  • Retrieves imaging and other pertinent data and all necessary calculations for physician's interpretation of results.
  • Balances, calibrates and records appropriate hemodynamic data as well as intervenes in cardiopulmonary emergencies.
  • Operates equipment properly in a reliable manner, per departmental standards, complying with all safety guidelines/policies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
