Foundations of the Canadian political space. Constitution, parliamentary government, federalism. Political parties and elections. Overview of political forces (classes, groups, movements). This course is exclusively reserved for students who will be serving as pages in the House of Commons of the Parliament of Canada during the Fall term. The course aims to provide students with essential knowledge and analytical tools to better understand Canadian political life. It offers an overview of the ideas, events, institutions, and key actors that have shaped and continue to influence Canada’s political society, with a specific focus on domestic politics. Teaching will alternate between French and English under a major theme. Students can participate in each session in the official language of their choice.
