About The Position
This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position to teach MAT1339, Introduction to Calculus and Vectors, during the Winter 2027 semester at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Science, Department of Mathematics and Statistics. The course covers instantaneous rate of change, derivatives of various functions, applications of derivatives, concavity, optimization, and vectors in two and three dimensions. It also includes the algebraic operations on vectors, dot product, cross product, and the parametric form of lines and planes. The prerequisite is Ontario 4U Functions (MHF4U) or MAT1318 or equivalent. Credits for this course do not count towards program requirements. The course will be taught in English and uses the Mobius platform.
Requirements
- PhD in mathematics.
- Expert level knowledge of LaTeX.
- Must coordinate (across all sections).
- An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
- All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority.
