About The Position
This position involves tutoring for the Introduction to Music Studies class (MUTH 11100) for an average of 2 hours per week during the fall semester. The anticipated work schedule is 1 hour per day on Mondays and Wednesdays, or 1 hour per day on Tuesdays and Thursdays, each week in the Fall 2026 semester. The pay rate is $16.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Outstanding academic achievement as evidenced by GPA
- Outstanding achievement in aural skills and music theory courses, with grades of A or A- in each course taken
- Strong experience with music technology, including facility with Canvas, Microsoft 365, Audacity, Spotify, and MuseScore
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work during posted hours
- Personal qualities conducive to one-on-one conferences, such as a friendly, approachable manner; patience; good listening abilities; and a sense of maturity and responsibility
Nice To Haves
- Formal or informal experience teaching/tutoring music theory suggested
