About The Position

This position is responsible for helping to run a smooth intramural program by providing an atmosphere of fun in a competitive, yet safe, environment. The employee must be able to implement Intramural Sports policies and playing rules to maintain an appropriate level of control, fairness, and safety. They should maintain a positive attitude on-site and strive to improve officiating skills.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled student at Mount St. Joseph University
• Ability to work on own initiative, independently, and to deadlines
• Well organized, punctual, and reliable
• The ability to communicate sensitively and tactfully, both orally and in writing, with individuals at all levels within the University
• lifting up to 15 lbs.
• other physical requirements

Nice To Haves

• Work Study eligible preferred
• Working knowledge of the rules to all major sports

Responsibilities

• Officiate recreation events
• Assists with day-to-day operations of the Intramural program which includes, but is not limited to: scorekeeper, referee, timer, ball chaser, and line judge
• Enforce all University, facility/program policies, rules, and regulations
• Maintain all equipment and ensure proper use
• Assist with pre and post-game logistics
• Other duties as assigned
