About The Position

The IDEA Interventionist Teacher provides small-group academic interventions for students with identified gaps of two or more years in Reading and/or Math, with the goal of closing those gaps by two years within one school year. The role supports students’ preparation for IDEA’s AP for All initiative through universal screening, Direct Instruction intervention, frequent progress monitoring, and increasingly intensive research-based instruction for students who continue to experience difficulty. This position is funded by Title I Part A. Employment is tied to allowable and allocable grant activities, and the employee will work solely on those activities. Grant funding may be extended, but there is no guarantee of ongoing, indefinite employment. The employee and supervisor must sign the job description acknowledging the grant-funded position, and the position requires a time and effort report. The role teaches intervention groups across grade levels, depending on campus assignment, and coordinates with general education teachers and students’ families. The teacher implements IDEA curricula, state learning standards, assessments, and behavior-management practices; tracks student progress; adjusts instruction; and participates in school and professional learning activities. The position requires at least 40 hours at school per week. Additional duties may include after-school tutoring or Saturday school.
