About The Position

This role is for an Interventional Technologist in the Imaging department at Columbia St. Mary's Milwaukee. The position is part-time with a weekend option shift. The technologist will be responsible for accurately positioning patients, selecting optimal exposure factors, administering contrast media and medications, monitoring patients, refining imaging protocols, and maintaining equipment functionality and department cleanliness.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Vascular-Intrvn Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 15 Months (1 1/4 year) of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • General Radiography required in addition to Vascular Interventional Radiology.
  • State Radiology Technologist licensure issued by Wisconsin Radiography Examining Board required.
  • General Radiology and state licensure required by hire or job transfer date.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately position patients and select optimal exposure factors and anatomic parameters to produce and submit high-quality images and data to PACS.
  • Administer contrast media and medications within regulatory scope while monitoring patients for abnormal activity and ensuring strict adherence to radiation protection guidelines.
  • Observe and refine imaging protocols as warranted to enhance diagnostic accuracy and ensure all documentation meets departmental standards.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly department and ensure equipment functionality by performing routine checks and implementing lock/tag-out procedures for malfunctions.
