This position is located at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, MA. The role involves performing diversified clinical patient care, technical and related duties within assigned modality as part of an interdisciplinary care team. Responsibilities include patient assessments, correlating clinical findings with exam/procedure requests, obtaining pertinent information from patient charts, documenting in the EHR, educating patients, positioning patients, selecting imaging equipment and supplies, identifying, preparing and/or administering pharmaceuticals, selecting technical factors for quality images, applying ALARA principles, and assisting physicians in performing procedures.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Attainment of post-primary certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Interventional Radiology RT(VI)/(CI)/or (CV).
  • Current RT licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or Cardiovascular Credentialing International is required.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

Nice To Haves

  • Post-primary certification in Vascular Interventional Radiography and ACLS is preferred.
  • RT Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and/or Rhode Island.
  • Post-primary certification and ACLS is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diversified clinical patient care, technical and related duties within assigned modality as part of an interdisciplinary care team.
  • Assume responsibility for each assigned patient.
  • Perform patient assessments, and correlate clinical findings with exam/procedure request.
  • Obtain pertinent information from patient’s chart and document all data within the EHR.
  • Educate patient for exam.
  • Position patient and select appropriate imaging equipment and supplies.
  • Identify, prepare and/or administer pharmaceuticals related to the exam/procedure.
  • Select technical factors/ parameters/sequences to produce quality images.
  • Properly identify anatomy and evaluate images for technical quality.
  • Apply the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patient, self and others and aware of MR safety practices.
  • Assist physicians in performing procedures.
