About The Position

The Radiology Technologist Specialist performs a variety of special technical, diagnostic, and interventional radiologic procedures at a technical level that does not require constant supervision. The role also assumes responsibility for specified radiographic procedures and may include instructor duties. The technologist independently performs special procedures and works both independently and as part of the care team. This position is 0.8 FTE on a day schedule, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A $20,000 sign-on bonus is available to eligible candidates. The role is based at MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital, a 388-bed acute-care hospital serving Puyallup and East Pierce County.

Requirements

Graduate or be eligible for graduation with an associate degree from an accredited imaging program, or equivalent.
Washington State Department of Health X-Ray Technician registration is permitted, but the candidate must transition to Certified Radiologic Technologist status with the Washington State Department of Health within three months of hire.
Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists is required; if pending, it must be completed within six months of hire into this job classification.
BLS certification.

Responsibilities

Perform a broad range of diagnostic radiology exams using fixed, portable, and fluoroscopic imaging equipment.
May support trauma imaging, operating room cases, and routine diagnostic studies.
Ensure imaging exams are completed in accordance with established departmental policies and clinical guidelines.
Serve as a clinical resource and role model, working effectively independently and as part of the care team.
Assume responsibility for specified radiographic procedures and may be assigned instructor duties.
Independently perform special procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision.
