About The Position
The VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHCS) is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist specializing in Cardiac & Vascular procedures. This role is based in Las Vegas, Nevada, a growing metropolitan area offering a high quality of life, outdoor recreational opportunities, and a burgeoning healthcare sector. VASNHCS is a state-of-the-art facility serving over 230,000 veterans and is part of the VA Sierra Pacific Network (VISN 21). The Radiology Service is equipped with advanced imaging capabilities, including interventional radiology, and provides a collaborative environment for healthcare professionals to serve veterans. Requirements
- Current ARRT registration in Radiography (R)
- Additional certification in Cardiac Interventional (CI) and/or Vascular Interventional (VI) required
- Current ACLS and BLS/BCLS certification (American Heart Association or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in cardiac catheterization lab and/or interventional radiology
- Proficiency with hemodynamic monitoring, sterile surgical technique, and interventional equipment
- Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, vascular anatomy, and interventional procedural protocols

- VA or federal healthcare experience preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Perform cardiac catheterization, angiography, and a full range of interventional radiology procedures including stent placements, embolizations, and vascular access procedures
- Operate and maintain specialized interventional imaging equipment including biplane fluoroscopy, C-arm, and digital subtraction angiography (DSA) systems
- Assist interventional radiologists and cardiologists during complex invasive procedures using sterile surgical technique
- Prepare sterile trays, catheters, contrast media, guidewires, and specialized devices; maintain sterile field throughout procedures
- Monitor patient hemodynamic status during procedures; recognize and respond to cardiac arrhythmias and other critical changes
- Administer contrast media and medications as directed; manage IV access and monitor for adverse reactions
- Perform post-processing of images using PACS and specialized workstations; ensure proper archival and availability for interpretation
- Participate in on-call rotation for emergent interventional procedures
- Practice radiation safety, adhere to ALARA principles, and participate in quality assurance activities
- Maintain and troubleshoot interventional suite equipment; coordinate with biomedical engineering for repairs
