About The Position

Posterity Group LLC is seeking an Onsite Interventional Radiology Physician to staff the Syracuse VA Medical Center. This role involves providing comprehensive interventional radiology services, including interpretations, consultations, patient safety oversight, and training of residents and medical staff. The physician will also participate in quality control and may be assigned administrative responsibilities.

Requirements

• Valid BLS
• Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree from an approved medical or osteopathic medicine program.
• Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
• Completion of residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.

Nice To Haves

• Sufficient computer skills for advanced PACs and voice recognition systems.

Responsibilities

• Timely interpretation and communication of imaging results, including entry into digital medical records and verbal notification of critical findings.
• Provide consultation services and comparative reports.
• Participate in clinical conferences and committees as requested by referring physicians.
• Ensure overall patient safety in imaging, including oversight of contrast administration, response to adverse reactions, and review of requests for appropriate protocols, preparations, and medications.
• Assist, train, supervise, and mentor radiology residents in procedure performance and study interpretation.
• Provide education and training to medical staff through conferences, committees, and lecture series.
• May be assigned administrative or managerial responsibilities through participation in clinical, educational, and administrative committees, task groups, or special projects.
• Participate in quality control/quality management, including department and hospital-level peer reviews.
