About The Position

This is a Locum Tenens position for an Interventional Cardiologist in Eureka, CA. The role involves inpatient service setting with call-only coverage. The coverage period is from November 11, 2026, ongoing, with specific dates including Nov 11 – Nov 17, 2026; Nov 25 – Dec 1, 2026; Dec 8 – Dec 11, 2026; and Dec 18, 2026 – Jan 1, 2027. The physician will provide 24-hour beeper call coverage with a 20-minute response time. The average daily patient volume is 10-15 patients, with a case mix of 75% Interventional, 25% Noninvasive, and Nuclear Cardiology. The facility uses the Epic EMR system. Hospital privileges are not required as temporary privileges are not available.

Requirements

• Board Certified or Eligible in Interventional Cardiology.
• Active California License.
• DEA required.
• BLS, ACLS, FLURO certifications.
• Minimum 2 years of current hospital clinical activity in the specialty.
• Nuclear cardiology reading proficiency.
• Epic EMR proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide interventional cardiology procedures (e.g., angioplasty, stenting).
• Perform noninvasive cardiology evaluations and consultations.
• Read and interpret nuclear cardiology studies (e.g., Cardiolyte, Thallium).
• Provide 24-hour beeper call coverage for cardiology emergencies.
• Manage inpatient cardiology consults and admissions.
