About The Position

The Knight Cardiovascular Institute (KCVI) is a top integrated center for cardiovascular clinical care, translational research, and professional training. KCVI focuses on improving patient outcomes through earlier diagnosis, accurate monitoring, and tailored therapies based on the molecular basis of disease. This role involves clinical work as an interventional cardiologist, with a focus on complex coronary interventions, including chronic total occlusion and high-risk PCI. The position also includes educational activities, such as participating in the development of an interventional cardiology fellowship and involving trainees in the valvular heart disease program.

Requirements

  • Licensed MD with an active Oregon license upon hire.
  • Board Certified in Cardiology.
  • Board eligible/certified in Interventional Cardiology.
  • DEA certification.
  • Current BCLS and ACLS certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working in an academic health facility.
  • Expertise in complex coronary and structural heart disease procedures.
  • Capability in valvuloplasty, percutaneous valve implantation, ASD/PFO, perivalvular leak, and post-MI VSD closures, alcohol septal ablation, and implantation of percutaneous ventricular assist devices.

Responsibilities

  • Work clinically as an interventional cardiologist.
  • Spend an average of two (2) days a week in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, focusing on complex coronary interventions (chronic total occlusion and high-risk PCI).
  • Cover fair share of interventional call (weeknights, weekends, and holidays) and clinic.
  • Participate in the development of an interventional cardiology fellowship at OHSU.
  • Have trainees participate in the valvular heart disease program.
