About The Position

Constellation Schools is seeking a highly qualified K–8 Intervention Specialist in Cleveland, Ohio, to provide a superior education for students. The role involves bringing the curriculum to life, creating a positive classroom environment, and prioritizing student learning and social-emotional development. The specialist prepares and delivers lessons, differentiates instruction, tracks student progress, manages classroom behavior, and works with families and colleagues to support students’ academic and social-emotional growth. The position also includes using approved curricula and technology, applying school-wide expectations, and contributing to non-instructional activities as needed.

Requirements

• Active, current Ohio teaching license in the appropriate content area.
• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
• Comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment involving frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to properly manage confidential information.
• Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
• Experience working within an urban environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lesson plans, modifying them as appropriate during the school year.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
• Use research-based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom.
• Create a positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Use school-approved curricula that reflect students’ diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds.
• Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms.
• Communicate and meet with families regarding their child’s academic and social-emotional growth.
• Incorporate technology skills into daily classroom practice to support learning.
• Participate in planning and implementing non-instructional activities as needed.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Supervise students of various ages in settings such as playgrounds and cafeterias.
