About The Position

Oakstone Community School is hiring a K–12 Intervention Specialist / Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. We are a small public school serving students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), offering small class sizes, collaborative co-teaching, and strong staff support.

Requirements

  • Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist License (Mild/Moderate OR Moderate/Intensive)
  • Experience with IEPs, special education compliance, and progress monitoring
  • Strong classroom management, differentiation, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to support students with disabilities, ASD, and below grade-level learners
  • Willing to complete Ohio BCI & FBI background checks (upon hire and every 5 years)
  • Must obtain and maintain CPR / First Aid / AED certification (renewed every 2 years)

Nice To Haves

  • Dual licensure preferred
  • Science Teacher (MS/HS) – Biology, Physical Science, Chemistry
  • Math Teacher (Grades 7–12) – through Algebra II
  • ELA Teacher (MS/HS) – Reading, Writing, Language Arts

Responsibilities

  • Manage IEP caseload (IEP development, annual reviews, compliance, progress monitoring)
  • Provide special education services, accommodations, and modifications
  • Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and track behavior data
  • Deliver direct instruction and co-teaching in inclusion and small-group settings
  • Support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and diverse learning needs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
  • Track student data, goals, and academic progress
