Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or human services with 3 years child welfare/social service experience OR Bachelor's degree in any other major with 5 years child welfare/social service experience.
  • Candidates will be required to enroll in a graduate social/human services program and complete course work in 3 years from enrollment.
  • DCFS Foundations trained and eligible for obtaining a Child Welfare Employment License (CWEL) upon hire.
  • Knowledge and skills necessary to apply the principles of child welfare and mental health treatment to specific cases.
  • Knowledge of human behavior and individual differences in ability, personality, interests, learning and motivation.
  • Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Outlook and Word, as well as the ability to learn DCFS documentation software.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's of Social Work degree or an academically equivalent Master’s degree in a human service preferred
  • 2 years of full-time supervisory experience in a social work setting.
  • Current CWEL license in good standing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for assigned staff, including employment, training, supervision, support and performance feedback, including timely completion of performance evaluations.
  • Ensures that agency standards are met for the delivery of services to clients.
  • Ensures compliance with Baby Fold and Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) policies, procedures, and rules and with all relevant state and federal laws.
  • Ensures that sound clinical decisions are made in the provision of services.
  • Coordinates the processes of referral, intake, acceptance, service delivery, and discharge related to assigned program areas.
  • Participates in quality assurance and program evaluation.
