About The Position

Professionally interviews patients, obtains complete and accurate information for patient procedures in Interventional Radiology. Schedules appointments for outpatient appointments/tests. Coordinates patient schedules to coordinate with Interventional Radiology and the I.R. Radiologists to maximize patient and physician satisfaction. Schedules Anesthesia and PAT for patients. Schedules company representatives to be present for certain procedures. Introduces patient to the facility in a manner designed to reduce patient anxiety and improve patient satisfaction. Communicates patient instructions, directions and physician order requirement to patients, physician office staff and other SMHCS personnel.

Requirements

• One (1) year experience in a health care-related industry.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Previous appointment scheduling and/or registration experience.
• Typing skills of at least 40 words per minute.
• General knowledge of patient medications and their potential effect on scheduled procedures.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with referring physician offices and patients to accurately and efficiently schedule interventional radiology procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and set priorities.
• Ability to be tactful, diplomatic, and handle any situation with professionalism.
