About The Position

Clarkson College is seeking an Interprofessional Simulation Instructor to help prepare students to provide high-quality, ethical, and compassionate health care. The instructor collaborates with faculty, rural health partners, emergency medical services agencies, community organizations, and healthcare systems to extend simulation education beyond campus while maintaining high standards of instructional quality and fidelity. The role requires practical experience performing the skills taught and the ability to communicate those skills clearly and precisely to students. Evening and weekend work is required as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare discipline such as nursing, paramedic, allied health, medicine, or a related field.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider certification.
• At least two years of work experience in a health care occupation or field.
• Excellent communication and instructional skills.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn simulation and audiovisual technologies.
• Current valid motor vehicle operator's license and ability to meet and maintain the insurability requirements set by the fleet automobile liability insurance carrier.
• Ability to work with a varied population of individuals.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Practical experience performing the skills taught.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency with classroom equipment, including computers, projectors, electronic bulletin boards, TVs, and DVD recorders.
• Proficiency with course-specific training materials and equipment, including medical manikins, barrier devices, and external automated defibrillators.
• Certification or licensure in a health care field.
