About The Position

Connecting Visitors to the Science Center’s Mission! At the Saint Louis Science Center our mission is to ensure everyone is curious and engaged with science. The Gallery and exhibit content team supports the Science Center’s mission by providing educational experiences in our galleries and through our exhibits. This role creates an engaging, interactive guest experience while supporting daily gallery operations. The position maintains exhibit readiness, facilitates hands-on learning, and collaborates with the Gallery Operations Team to ensure high-quality experiences.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of working experience is required
  • Be prepared to be on your feet a majority of the day.
  • Be able to withstand large crowds and loud noises.

Nice To Haves

  • Working on a BS or BA in a relevant Science, Informal Education, Museum Studies or Earth Science field preferred.
  • science education or cultural institution experience is appreciated.
  • National Association for Interpretation Training is appreciated but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Senior Educators and Facilitators to ensure a high quality, immersive, and engaging guest experience.
  • Train facilitators in interactive experiences.
  • Ensure galleries remain guest ready including resetting interactives as needed.
  • Effectively interact with guests of all ages and engage them in gallery interactive experiences.
  • Assist Senior Educators with the daily operations of the science center, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Cross Train in all galleries and be a part of the bigger Gallery Operations Team.
