About The Position

Sport Management Interns will learn how to promote and operate sports leagues, camps, clinics, tournaments, and other special events. They will be immersed in the scheduling, execution, and day to day operations of the facility assisting in any of following areas: Events and Operations, FEC (Family Entertainment Center) and Food and Beverage. Interns will also have the opportunity to learn administrative details of a business, including human resources (staff recruiting, hiring, firing, records, etc.), payroll, profit and loss reports and analysis. Overall, Interns will gain valuable experience in the sports and recreation industry focusing on full-service entertainment.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong desire to learn
  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Demonstrate success with multi-tasking and organizing multiple priorities
  • Self-motivated and has initiative to complete tasks in a timely fashion
  • Must be willing to work outside for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Currently a student or a new graduate
  • A student majoring in sport management or related field

Responsibilities

  • Cross-trained in multiple areas throughout the facility, such as marketing, human resources, event management, youth programming, food and beverage, guest services, sales, and facility operations management
  • Complete a summer-long internship to gain real-world experience in sports management
  • May be required to help during special events and additional projects that are not related to their specific area
