About The Position

This internship offers a valuable learning experience for advanced year Master's of Social Work or Master's of Mental Health Counseling students. Interns will gain practical experience by co-leading group therapy sessions with licensed professionals, providing individual counseling to an assigned caseload, and offering immediate support and de-escalation skills to students. Weekly clinical supervision is provided by an on-site LCSW-C to support professional development.

Requirements

• Advanced year Master's of Social Work students or Master's of Mental Health Counseling students.
• Motivation to engage and learn in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to take initiative and work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
• Ability to use supervision effectively and seek out feedback to strengthen professional development.
• Patience, compassion, flexibility and adaptability are critical in working within this school environment.

Responsibilities

• Co-lead group therapy sessions with a licensed social worker or professional counselor.
• Provide individual counseling to an assigned caseload.
• Provide support and practice de-escalation skills 'in the moment' when students are in need of support.
