About The Position

Hunkemöller is offering a five-month privacy and LegalTech internship starting in February 2027 as part of its Best Internship in Retail (BIIR) program. The intern will support the privacy team at an international retail organization and learn about privacy compliance, data protection, and legal technology. The internship includes opportunities to participate in a program with fellow interns, training, a CEO Q&A, and a Dragons’ Den. An assigned buddy provides personal coaching and support.

Requirements

• Be in the final semesters of a Master’s, Bachelor’s, or HBO program.
• Be studying or have a minor in a relevant area such as Law and Technology, Privacy Law, Data Protection Law, Internet Law, or GDPR.
• Be fluent in English.
• Have a flexible, proactive, can-do attitude.
• Be organized and attentive to detail.
• Be motivated to learn, have a strong work ethic, and be dependable and reliable.
• Be available for five months starting in February 2027 and remain enrolled at a school or university throughout the internship.
• Meet one of the stated Dutch-law eligibility conditions: be an EU citizen; hold a Family/Partner visa; or be a non-EU student studying in the Netherlands whose internship is mandatory in their curriculum or whose university will sign a Nuffic Agreement.

Nice To Haves

• Fluency in additional languages.
• Previous internship or relevant work experience.
• Familiarity with a privacy and information technology risk management system such as OneTrust.

Responsibilities

• Support the privacy team in ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including the GDPR and ePrivacy Directive.
• Monitor, analyze, and follow up on privacy requests from departments, customers, and others.
• Support automation and AI-first technology solutions to improve the team’s LegalTech capabilities.
• Participate in privacy awareness activities and training, including developing presentation skills.
• Keep privacy policies up to date and develop internal data protection guidelines and materials.
• Support management of the organization’s OneTrust privacy software, including improving data quality and data flows.
• Collaborate with stakeholders outside the Privacy and Legal team, particularly in IT and eCommerce.
• Learn about implementing cookie compliance and automating data subject requests.
