About The Position

This is a 12-week fieldwork assignment for students enrolled in an accredited OT or OTA program. The intern will be responsible for completing evaluations, assessments, and developing intervention plans for clients with SMI conditions. Students will lead groups and engage with clients one-on-one. The learning model includes 1:1 training/mentoring, collaborative engagement with other interns, and interprofessional engagement with other disciplines/departments. Students are expected to have robust engagement and hands-on experience throughout the 12 weeks.

Requirements

• Be an enrolled student in an accredited OT or OTA program
• Have been pre-selected by the Sheppard Pratt OT via collaboration with the school

Responsibilities

• Complete OT evaluations
• Complete home environment assessments
• Develop intervention plans for clients with SMI conditions
• Lead groups
• Engage clients in community activities
• Engage with clients 1:1
