About The Position

M-D Building is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Purchasing Intern to join our Purchasing team. This paid internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in purchasing, supply chain, and vendor management within a leading manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables and data analysis a plus).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience or coursework in purchasing or supply chain management is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in purchasing raw materials, supplies, and services necessary for production and operations.
• Maintain accurate purchase order records and ensure timely communication with vendors.
• Perform data entry and updates in purchasing systems and vendor management software.
• Support the team in analyzing purchase trends and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal departments, including sales, marketing, production, and accounting, to ensure the smooth flow of goods and materials.
• Assist in resolving purchase order discrepancies, invoicing issues, or delivery concerns.
• Conduct market research to identify potential new suppliers and evaluate existing vendor performance.
• Help prepare reports and presentations on purchasing activities, metrics, and opportunities.
