About The Position

This internship offers hands-on experience with Looker, focusing on developing interactive and insightful visualizations. You will collaborate with the team to investigate data discrepancies, troubleshoot issues, and support Data Analysts and business users. Responsibilities include assisting in the development and maintenance of the Looker semantic layer (views and Explores), contributing to dbt models for data transformation, and writing documentation for data models and transformations. The role involves actively learning the data stack, including dbt, Looker, and Google Cloud Platform, and contributing to the team's success. This is an opportunity to gain practical experience with cutting-edge data management and visualization tools (BigQuery, Looker, SAP Analytics Cloud), understand the workings of a data-driven retail organization, receive mentorship from experienced data professionals, and contribute to impactful data initiatives.

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Management, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of data management concepts, including data warehousing, data modeling, and data governance.
• Experience or familiarity with SQL and cloud-based data platforms (ideally Google Cloud Platform).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn new technologies in a fast-paced environment.
• Dealing with English speaking staff and reporting in English.
• Available for 5 months starting in September 2026.
• Must be enrolled at a school or university for the full duration of the internship.
• Must be an EU citizen, on a Family/Partner visa, or a non-EU student studying in the Netherlands and meeting specific curriculum or university agreement requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Exposure to data visualization tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience with Looker, building skills in developing interactive and insightful visualizations.
• Work with the team to investigate data discrepancies, troubleshoot issues, and support Data Analysts and business users with their data questions.
• Learn and assist in the development and maintenance of our Looker semantic layer, including views and Explores.
• Assist in developing, testing, and deploying data transformation models using dbt to turn raw data into clean, structured data marts.
• Assist in writing clear documentation for data models and transformations.
• Actively learn our data stack, including dbt, Looker, and Google Cloud Platform, and contribute to the team's success.
